What You Need to Become a Work at Home Coach

These days the demand for work at home is so outrageous that the prospect of becoming a work at home coach is actually not only reasonable but rational. Whenever such a potent demand for knowledge or information exists it is only natural for it to be filled by someone who can provide a service or product to fill that gap.

This is why many work at home coaches are raking in huge incomes even in a down economy. With such high demand for at home employment, or for that matter any employment at all, any one with the right skills can make a killing helping people reach their goals.

Now, it is important to understand that there are varying degrees of popularity, student size, and quality among work at home coaches. On one end of the spectrum you have someone like Robert Allen whose massive advertising campaigns reach millions of people yearly and on the other hand you have average Joes popping up left and right trying to make a buck in this up and coming industry.

As a personal rule I think it’s only fair to the customers that a work at home coach meets several important criteria before attempting to make money consulting people on how to start working from home.

First and foremost a work at home coach should have reasonable success in this field on their own, with enough evidence to support any claims they can make. Many people are all too familiar with the paradox of work at home coaches whose only success have been in selling guides on how to work from home in which they tell people that in order to make money they need to sell guides on how to work from home.

A real coach who’s not a charlatan or fly by night scammer should have an entrepreneurial resume that includes businesses outside the work at home industry or experience in obtaining a real job working out of their homes, again outside any endeavor that ventures to sell work at home materials.

By having this qualification these coaches can help their clients meet specific needs whether they pertain to job hunting, business building, or even both.

It’s sad to say that many work at home coaches, even some of the more prominent ones, do not posses this qualification. It’s not hard to see how this rinse and repeat cycle comes about, one person attempts to copy another’s success foregoing the necessary hard work and legitimacy, despite their shortcomings they make money prompting a new wave of copycat “work at home coaches” to hit the scene.

This is best depicted with the hordes of work at home manuals featuring an author claiming to make boat loads of money and also willing to share this info with you, for a price off course. In many cases these people have never earned a dime working from home outside of selling their crappy ebook.

Their earning proof is forged and they have no business telling anyone how to succeed, let alone charging for what they pass off as info.

However, outside of being a legitimate voice in this industry it’s hard to stop this process and the only thing you can do is warn others to stick to proven and legitimate sources in this niche.

Now, if this does not describe you and you legitimately want to help people succeed starting their own online business or finding a job that allows them to work from home and you have the aforementioned skills then there are several things that you can do to start your consulting business, which I will discuss in my next post detailing how to start a work at home coaching company.

WorkatHomeCoach.com Review - Is Dwayne Brightman a Scam?

There’s a new Work at Home Coach on the scene and he’s dealing with a very interesting dilemma. On his website, workathomecoach.com, Dwayne Brightman claims that due to a lost bet he now has to show 500 people how to succeed at making money from home.

He backs up his credentials as a person of authority in this field with a video showing him logging into his online accounts. In the video he reveals the he makes a whopping 147k a month, although he does go on to say that as a beginner you’re a long ways away from this kind of income but he does promise to show you how to get started on the right path and earn a decent income online.

I have to admit there is a lot of fast-talk on the site and it takes a while to get to the meat and potatoes of what Dwayne the Work at Home Coach is really offering. As part of his coaching program he will set you up with a business model to an established home based business that you can use to earn a supplemental income with.

Here’s how he describes the company you’ll be working with:

• I've been working with them for almost 2 years now and out of the literally 100s of companies I've worked with, I've hand-picked them as being the best of the best.
• This isn't some fly-by-night operation some guy is running out of his spare bedroom ...
• They are a Better Business Bureau accredited business with an A+ rating
• They are a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange
• They are a debt-free, cash rich company in business for over 25 years

• They did more than 3 BILLION DOLLARS in sales last year

Now all you have to do is request the work at home kit and your personal success coach will contact you within a day or two to answer all of your questions and to help you get started.

In addition, Dwayne Brightman and his team offer special additional VIP support 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This ensures that any questions you will have about your business will get answered in a timely manner.

Technically this work at home kit is free, but in order to keep from losing money by sending this information out to literally every one the company has instituted a priority mail charge, it’s only $9.95 but it really goes a long way in separating the serious minded folks from those just hanging around.

THEY simply have to charge this small fee to cover the cost of producing the printed materials, DVD, etc. and shipping your package to you via priority mail.

But here’s the best part! Dwayne, “Work at Home Coach,” Brightman is so confident that you will succeed with this opportunity that he is offering a personal refund guarantee - if for ANY reason you decide this business isn't right for you and decide not to continue, He will personally refund you $9.95 out of his own pocket.

So basically he’s letting you try his business out with no risk and a heck of a lot of bonuses to boot.

How to Choose a Work at Home Coach?

It seems like there is an obvious answer to that question but in reality work at home coaches come in many different forms and by no means are they all the same. Many people have their work at home dreams crushed when they choose the wrong coach and are led down a long and grueling path to failure.

This is why if you do your research and understand what each type of work at home coach has to offer than you can be better prepared and ultimately have a much more satisfying experience.

To begin with it is almost guaranteed that you will not find a free work at home coach that concept simply does not exist in this industry. Most will charge you upfront or on some drawn out monthly plan, and this is precisely why it is important to research who you work with.

The first group in this category are the “professional” boiler room firms that offer you high end coaching. These people buy leads from other product owners as an up sell deal, so for instance you buy some thirty dollar eBook about how to use AdWords and the next thing you know you’re getting a call from some guy in Utah claiming that for $10,000 he can help you really succeed.

These are the worst kinds of operations and I would advise staying far away from them. These people are not out to help you, they usually provide limited support at outrageous prices. Their only real skill is at knowing how to extract as much money as possible from their customers.

They use a variety of high-pressure sales tactics and really have no standard prices for their work, they’re trained on how to deceptively gauge a customer’s worth and then offer their services at the highest possible price. So for instance a customer with good credit and multiple cards would be charged much more than someone with lesser means.

As you can tell by now this is not what most people expect when they hire a work at home coach. Your next option is to go with someone local. This is always a great bet because you will be working with someone in your neighborhood and will have one on one contact with them. This offers a real level of security as you know you won’t be swindled by some out-of-state scammer.

Now that’s not to say that these people will necessarily help you reach your goals. You still need to research them and the claims that they make. I would recommend finding some of their former students if possible and getting some real feedback. This you really know if they are the right mentor for you or not.

Finally, your last option is to with a celebrity blogger/ internet guru, there are many popular blogger types that have huge followings and big names within their respective fields. Many times these people offer coaching seminars or retreat weekend type of packages. These always sell out and are highly sought after.

Now again this doesn’t mean that you will personally benefit from this type of work at home coaching. I would only suggest taking one of these when you’ve already established your business and can afford the additional help. Due to the popularity of the coaches these events are not cheap and I would only recommend going if you know exactly what you want to get out of the event and have made sure that it will be provided.

Keep these tips in mind when you’re researching your options for a work at home coach and you won’t be disappointed.
